Match Preview
Lahore Qalandars vs Islamabad United
The first match after the resumption of PSL 2021 is Lahore Qalandars vs Islamabad United, to be played at the Sheikh Zyed Stadium in Abu Dhabi at 9:30 p.m. (IST).
Lahore Qalandars is one of the best teams this season. They have some quality players who have been able to perform well and get their team positive results. They surely can continue to play in this way and get some more wins to qualify for the playoffs.
Islamabad United, on the other hand, has been a little lucky. They are in the third position at this moment, but they have not had a very impactful season. Many of their players have displayed some small performances that have led them to win the matches, but there has been no standout performance as yet, which can change at any point in time.
My Fantasy XI
Ben Dunk, Paul Stirling(VC), Fakhar Zaman, Mohammed Hafeez(C), Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Husain Talat, Rashid Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf
Players to watch out for
Paul Stirling- Paul Stirling has only played two matches this season, and his strike rate of 162 has been very impressive. He is attacking right at the top, and if he continues to do so, Islamabad United can get in a very good position.
Mohammed Hafeez- Hafeez has been one of the highest run-scorer for Lahore Qalandars, and he is batting beautifully in the middle-order. He is very important for his team because they highly depend on him to score good runs for the team.
Shadab Khan- Shadab Khan is the captain of Islamabad United, and he has many responsibilities on his shoulder. He hasn’t performed well this season, but it is expected to change in the coming matches.
Rashid Khan- Rashid Khan was not available for Lahore Qalandars, and he played only two matches for them. But he is back for them now, and he surely is their most important bowler.
Shaheen Shah Afridi- Afridi is very economical this season (7 runs per over), and he also has picked up a few wickets. If he continues to play in this way, he can be a match-winner for Lahore Qalandars.
