Shreyas Iyer, who had won the Emerging Player award in his debut season for Delhi, was retained by Delhi Capitals ahead of the 2019 auction after handing over the captaincy duties in 2018. The stylish right-handed batsman, who has found a foothold into India’s limited-overs side on the back of some stellar performances in the domestic cricket for Mumbai, led his IPL side to the semi-final of the IPL 2019. Surrounded by some of the most exciting and experienced Indian and overseas talents, Iyer will be expected to go one step further during the IPL 2020.
